Anyone else have a horse that wants in almost as soon as they go out!? In summer he is happy to stay out but now he wants in. If I leave him he whips himself into a frenzy charging about at the gate, screaming and stressing. He is suitably dressed for the days weather, field has plenty of grazing still and he has my other horse for company. I would be happy with just an hour or two but rarely get even that.

Yep!! I have one that will stay out in summer in any weather including thunder and torrential rain. Usually as soon as the clocks change he wants in. He does as yours does, runs round screaming even when other horses are just eating. He is well rugged and has plenty of hay. He is fine at the moment as its mild but as soon as it turns cold he will want in. The first year I worried about having him in as I'm a fan of daily turnout but it's just not possible with him. I relented andeft him in and he is happy as Larry!!

Every horse on the yard wants in before the official "time" and it usually ends up in them trashing the fields to get YO attention, if it dares to rain they will start it not long after they have gone out. The grass is well over my ankles so its not lack of food! They just want their apple treat for coming in lol

My lot at home will come and go as they please, i will find one sometimes two standing at the barn door looking in for a sleep. The whole herd will come bombing at first call in colder weather which saves lots of mud on my boots (they have a run and put themselves into their own stable with no human help required)

Friend has one. He goes bananas after 2 hours out. She organises her life around him. (He's kept at home). I'd sell him ? !

Ah nice to know it isn’t just mine. I have just 2 at home. When Frankie wants in Will has to come too as he won’t stay out on his own. My life is also organised around my princes! ?

My two youngsters need to be encouraged outside with the business end of a broom or shavings fork so I can muck out whereupon they stay in the yard peering in the windows and rattling the barn door. If the weather is nice they don’t get hay left for them in their stables but they keep coming in to check. I have the wettest land in Ireland so the more time they spend off it the better but I do worry about their long-term health being such couch potatoes.
