This was one of the other problems we used to have , my horse was fine in the summer when the weather was nice.
But then he hated the wind and rain and got very stressed, he couldnt cope with being out but couldnt live in at night either.
He used to stress inwardly.
I have to say we even resorted to radionics and homeopathics all to no avail.
Appently horses that stress inwardly are the worst.
With the coligone ours love the liquid we use it on all the foals and youngsters now when we wean and worm.

Blimey Sally, we could be talking about the same horse here, they sound so alike.

She is desperate to come in, but when she is in she doesn't want to be in and I think she does get quietly stressed about it.

It is so frustrating becuase you just can't win and it feels like I'm constantly fighting a losing battle.

I hope you succeed where we failed but i have to admit mine got worse the older he got.
He was 10 when i eventually gave up and had him PTS last october.
It broke my heart as he was a horse that i bred .
Dont know why it started to go wrong we own our own yard and stables and try and keep them as chilled as possible so who knows why it happens to some horses.
I feel there must be an underlying problem somewhere.

Poor you, at least you tried your best for him and made the right decision to let him go.

I do my upmost to give her a stress free and happy life. She has plenty of grazing and friends, regular routine etc but it just doesn't seem to be enough.

I do believe that there is more to it, something must be causing the ulcers etc.

Hi,
I have just put a posting on about ulcers too. Your mare sounds very similar to mine. To be honest i think it is just a case of finding something they will eat and sticking to it. Mine seems to like D&H Calm and condition and apple chaff and sugar beat. Mind you if i put too much sb in there she wont eat it either!
She is really fussy with her hay as well, some night she will eat it others she wont.
She has been on gastroguard for 5 weeks now and is not better yet, she is on another 4 weeks of it now! My vet is talking about taking a biopsy as there is apparently a bacteria that can cause the ulcers but there hasn't been enough cases to prove it apparently!
I know how you feel though when you are tipping food and hay away all the time, it's very stressful for both of you!!
Good luck, i know i am not sure what to think about the future, i was told today it could take two years to get her right and even then she may still get them back.
