My ex-racer is fine with having her feet picked out normally, and as she knows the routine she picks them up 1 at a time for me...however, for the past 2 days she will not pick up her right back leg...Ive checked her left one for any injuries and can't see anything wrong to not want to put all of the pressure on it.
Yesterday I tried and tried, using me as an extra leg for her and trying to pick it up, i was using all my strength to pick it up, but it wouldn't budge, and again the same today...trying and trying to pick it up but no..nothing!
When I ride, she moves fine, no stiffness, no limping, lameness, nothing..
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks.

Thats what I thought, but is still riding on it fine, and cant see any injuries, or anything obstructing, like a stone stuck in or anything :S

I think shes telling you that it hurts somewhere. Either get your vet or farrier to take a look. My horse wouldnt pick one of her front legs up when she came in from the field lame. Just flatly refused to put the weight on her other front leg. Obviously I knew there was a problem but if your horse is usually ok, then isnt, that would suggest a problem, especially if she usually picks her feet up for you.

My mare has always been good about her feet. She suddenly developed a thing about one back foot being picked up even kicking out at the farrier which was so out of character.
Farrier thought it was coming from "high up" rather than her foot.
I got the back lady out and it was my mares pelvis that was the problem. A bit of jiggery pokery and she went back to being her sweet self. Immediate improvement but took a few months before being completely back to normal.

Where did you get your bowen treatment? the nearest i can find is essex and im leicester? hope its not her pelvis, ive only had her for a week and a half! :(
