Horse wont travel he panics

Hi we have got a horse that loads fine but once in the trailer he panics and his legs give way and he starts scrabbling........ive never had this type of problem before. any ideas on how to help him without breaking me him or the trailer.......

This sounds exactly like my mare........take the centre partition out......then they can spread their legs and balance

My first pony (many years ago) did exactly this, he was brilliant to load but could not stand once we were on the move and would fall going round any bend. The solution? We got a small lorry instead! I would never go back to trailers now anyway as I know of far too many trailer-related accidents.

I have a mare like that, falls over soon as you start moving, only things she keeps her balance in is 7.5 or bigger lorry with herrinbone.
Had to travel her a few weeks back in a rear facing lorry, that was the worst yet, had to travel along at 5 mph only had to go 5 miles and she went over 30 odd times
