Hi
Can anyone tell me what the best type of hat is for my two year old? I have heard mixed opinions about using a normal riding hat as they are quite heavy on neck muscles and some people say a cycling helmet is the best. Just after some advice she's going to be riding in an indoor arena on lead rein obviously.

Ooh, I'm interested in any answers to this - my daughter will be starting to ride in a month or so, she's three in august but very small!!

When my grandson first started sitting on my horses (15 2, 16 2& 17 1) at 2yr old, I padded out my smallest hat with rolled up newspaper it was safe enough as he was held at all times, now 4yr old and growing like spring grass, he wears his cycling helmet, still being held while I walk alongside, he hasn't had any lessons yet so it's very much just sitting on to and from the field

I bought the smallest hat for my 18 month old and it was too big. I didn't know about cycling helmets then but that's what I would use now.
