Posted in wrong place yesterday sorry, got my hands smacked.

We are thinking of buying a helios horsebox from kevin parker horseboxes ltd
Can anyone recommend them? does anyone own one?
They have 2 year warranty and we looked for others and did not find any, is there a catch we are missing?

Kevin and staff have been helpful and even picked us up from station.
We traveled a long way to find some one reliable, mum lost a 3k deposit last year to a conman so we are a bit jaded and cautious.
Should we ask for some written guarantee at the start? Kevin said he will post us the log book and mot after we pay the deposit, If the lorry is in our name do we own it even if its not finished?
We are looking to finance some of the box, they recommend Peregrine finance but we need some others to compare, can any members recommend a finance Co ?
Lots of questions and we hope kph are not offended that we ask them here!

They look good to me, seem well engineered and designed
they are open about weight and have tilt cabs which shows they care about what happens to the lorry in years to come
( ive found fixed cabs seem to go hand in hand with shoddy work and corner cutting bodges) as for finance I would shop round for the best rate and lowest fees

maybe worth giving the bank a try too, hope this helps.....

I had my lorry (better the devil you know) entirely re-furbed by Kevin and it's FANTASTIC. I love the Coatex on the ramp and in the back - makes cleaning out a doddle and if you do it every time, like I do, the box looks as new every time. If you buy a Helios, it'll be dead sound from the wheels up - he's almosy anal about stuff being done to the nth degree of perfection and keeps a close eye on his men. He knows his stuff and always updating what he does, to keep abreast of the latest developments.

Wish I could have afforded a Helios myself, but TBH my box is perfect now.

One teeny, weeny point about the Coatex - he applies it direct to the lorry floor and it sounds very 'hollow' and echoey under their feet unless you bed it up. I don't, and was used to the muffled sound of the EVA rubber mats in ours. Mine don't bang, but it could drive you mad even quicker than usual, if any of yours do. My floor was fibreglassed anyway, so's I could do a proper wash out after each trip, and Kevin Coatex-ed over it. You could always put mats on top if you had issues with the noise! A friend of mine has a Helios and a real box-wrecker of a horse - he has made no impact on it so far...

The ramp is non-slip (Coatex plus rubber-crumb) for the horses but it can catch you out in certain types of footwear.

What I'm trying to say is I highly recommend him!

Cant comment on Kevin Parker but I have looked at his site before and they look good.
Just wanted to add that we paid for our chassis (sourced by the builder), got the log book like Kevin said he will do for you, then the box was made. So the chassis was mine. Problem we had is we had a few problems (all sorted in the end) and we couldnt walk away as we 'owned' the chassis, which was part built at the time. We did ask another reputable horsebox builder about how you paid for the horseboxes and he said he asked for chassis payment too as so many people order a wagon and decide they then dont want it so its a bit of security for them too.
Good luck with your wagon, Im sure you will love it.
