Horsebox and towing vehicle older than 25 years

Thanks for this!

My current horsebox is 29 years old, my old one which we keep as a mobile sheep pen is 28 years old, and my oldest vehicle is a motorcycle which is now 33 years old. Only one is on the road but why they should not all be exempt is beyond me. Just think of the good those of us driving these elderly lorries are doing with regard to global warming. Just how much energy does it take to build a new lorry!

Absolutely and also now it is going to cost £250 per day to bring any 3.5 ton or over Horseboxes that do not comply with the new diesel emmision laws to within the M25 area of London. This is a disaster for people who keep horses in London as any lorries over 7 years old can not be converted to comply.

signed as mine becomes 25 this year and still going very strong

Within the M25?? B*gger, that rules out trips to Patchetts for me, they are just inside aren't they? When does that rule come in? My lorry is 22 years old but will sign anyway!

Peter, where can I find out about the new diesel emmission law? This sounds like madness. Does this mean I cant now take my 'D' reg lorry up the M25? (so thats Patchetts and Oldencraig out for me - which also means the Regionals).
