Hi I wonder if anyone would be able to give me any info or have had any dealings with either Empire Coach Builders in Kidderminster or Elite Coach works in Cheshire. Im looking to have a 14t lorry built but it must be super strong for 18h+ shire horse and 16h hw hunter type. any info would be appreciated
 
Sam at Elite coach works sprayed our 12 tonne, he was fab to deal with and the job looks amazing. He had several trucks in build on the few occasions we were there and they were all fantastic. He happily showed us round them all. If I were having a new build he would be top choice unless I could afford a Sovereign.
 
thank you for your comments, JackJill would you say you felt their build quality was good and would have good solid floor and ramp, the shire is not the best of loaders and can use the ramp like a trampoline:D
 
Yes I would think it would be more than fine but I guess you could discuss individual requirements with Sam, he was very approachable.
 
Although not one of the companies you mentioned, we used Tristar over in west wales for our 7.5t coach build just over a year ago.
Couldn't recommend them highly enough on price and quality of build. They are more commonly known for hunt lorries and livestock lorries so obviously a very strong build. We too wanted something that was going to last, there's so many flimsy lorries around particularly partitions etc
They did everything to our specification, full living with a double bunk over cab and single bunk over shower etc, huge underfloor storage, all of which we couldn't get anywhere else to do on a 7.5t and it still weighs under with 2 large horses in, couldn't rate the company enough

JP- your box is gorgeous- i had a Tristar & it was perfect for driving all over the country, no matter what kicked off in the back or my cob doing his bouncing bomb act on the ramp- it never marked the horses as all the edges are rounded & we took our clydesdale with his shire x friend from Reading to Cornwall without any stress.Terrific value for money & I would have another over any "premium" brand even if i won the lottery & cash wasn't an issue.
