Hi All

Just after some advice/ previous experiences.

We've just started dipping our toe into the sea of available horsebox converters - it's mammoth and everybody does things different, at waaaaay different prices.

I'm going for a conversion rather than a buy "off the shelf" as we need a v short box - restricted access / woman driver etc etc. ;-) (and I have a bug about safe floors etc)

I am struggling knowing who /what is best - if anybody has bought a conversion or got one done I'd be grateful to hear your experiences. Also how the box has "aged".

I'm particularly interested in companies in the north of England, Yorks, Durham, Cumbria, Northumberland, Lancs - we'd be prepared to travel for the right one.

Thank you for any help you can give me
M

Ive just had a 18ft long one done by a reputable firm in Lancs. It takes 3 horses and has a small day living and its great. I rang this firm for an alteration to be done on a 2nd hand box Id seen but he said he could do me one for not much more. Its basic but like you I was paranoid about the floor etc so at least I know its safe. I compared quite a few and mine is so substantail partition wise etc compared to some I viewed. I recomend you to have a look round at a few to see the differences and see what you like/dont like etc for when you have yours made.

Marlborough Horseboxes in Preston. I've just bought one and the quality is second to none, very solid and well built. Highly recommended

Moog-
I think you are looking for a "Coachbuilt , not a "conversion".
We saw ours in build and it was built from to a chassis cab base vehice from the floor up, not box van converted to a horsebox by adding a ramp and windows.
