Hi All,

I decided to sell my little box yesterday (its only a G Reg Transit so am not asking for a record breaking amount for him), so off I popped onto ebay and made my advert.

It is now a full time job!!! The response is quite shocking, I'm worried I have either put it on to cheap or that there are lots of window shoppers with a strange fetish for photos of horseboxes!!

Has anyone else experienced the same?

1200 starting, 1650 buy it now?

i've measured it from every angle, had to consult people at various mechanical things that i dont know, pictures from every angle (including me lifting the ramp on my own- just in case).

I am going to need a holiday if it carries on

sadly no!!! ive got 10 watchers had some questions some very silly :D
but mine is a 04 and £11750 so maybe its ok at the lower end but not much money for anything in the mid price range,, good luck with yours sounds like its what folk want...

thats the frustrating bit, they all want the life story but they just watch.

Horsebox Photo Fetishes- the only logical excuse.

If you want to look at in more detail, come see it!

I really wouldn't be surprised if someone asked for a video tour with voice overs of it soon!

I guess as its slightly older reg and perhaps people are not able to get to you to view, they have to ask.
I had some really silly questions about a t-shirt i sold the other day too.
Guess some people are like that hey? xx

I just sold my trailer on ebay and the response was unreal I had 160 watchers and in the end 8 bids thats only 1 in 20 watchers actually bid which I think is quite low but I got more than I wanted for it and it was very easy so dont doubt yourself just be pleased in such a cruddy economy you can sell for reasonable price!
The first day it went on I must have spent 3 hours answering questions when the info was on the listing which was a tad annoying but hey ho thats ebay for you!

I think that as soon as I get a bid I'll chill out about it. Each time I get questions I answer and then put the extra info' in the ad to try and make it a bit more self- service... we shall see if that works!

It might have been worth you publishing the questions and answers on to the listing. That way everyone can see the questions already asked and it shows that you have had alot of interest - which might encourage others to either bid or buy it now.

If I was after buying a box, I would also be asking for more photos.

When I bought my trailer there were loads of really good photos, so I could see exactly what I was buying.

One word of warning regarding accepting full payment by Paypal - with Paypal you need to prove 'delivery', a signed receipt is apparently not always accepted by Paypal as evidence, therefore you are at risk of a dodgy buyer saying they have not received the item and Paypal then refunding them. I know it sounds 'dramatic' but have read about this on other forums.

Good luck selling it, I think it is good value based on your description. I'd love a box rather than a trailer.

Thank you so much for the advice!! Deposit by Paypal, balance by cash.

if only ebay would let me out these closet dwellers, they would feel so much more fullfilled if they were free to horsebox perve to their hearts content and stay in the anonymous (?) classified ads with no real chance of ever finding true love or even touching one!!

I've just had a nose, may be worth adding a couple more photos, say one of the ramp and one of the inside? Difficult to be sure what it's like from one photo tbh. Having siad that it looks like a bargain for someone. Good luck with the sale.

I have a viewing!!!!

(I definitely think it was the demo shot of me lifting the ramp on my own that did it!!)

Fingers Crossed

we've just bought a lovely old rice trailer for £400. In very good nick too. We paid cash as soon as we saw it, and the lovely seller de-listed it - very very lucky :) He had 30 peeps watching it, but we were the first to see it.

Shy has wheels !
