I've looked at a lorry today to buy which IMO needs a new floor (had a damp spot)
I can get this done via my work, my mechanics said it would probably be best to use marine wood.

Is this the best thing to use? i want to get a quote for the wood before i go on considering this box.

defo need best quaility marine ply, but your can get horsebox flooring sheet (which has wooven fibre glass in it aswell a being a ply based material (even better|)and at mo i can't find website...............

But if having floor replaced make sure you have drain holes put in floor and horse wee just rots stuff!!! best to get rid pdq

Aluminium planks are meant to be the best and don't rot. My lorry has a plastic floor (used by Solitaire in all their boxes for many years - seems fine but I'd never heard of it before)

My box has a Marine ply floor with chequer plate aluminium sheets over the top. Make sure you can easily get at the floor to remove it. Dont quote me on this but I was told some boxes are built in a way that all the internal sides, tack lockers etc need to come out too if you want to get at the floor to replace it.
They do a marine ply which is coated in phenyl something or other which apparantly stops moisture getting into it.

NO NO NOT MARINE ply please for the sake of your horses!!!! you should use phenol ply( sometimes called anti slip mesh) its the stuff lorry floors and ifor comercial trailers are done with its like a redish color and resin inpregnated so its water proof and very strong or you could use the ally plank, marine ply will rot quite quicky if it gets wet
