Horsebox hire

Just wondering if anyone hires horse boxes? If so which are the good companies and how much would you expect to pay? And how does it compare cost wise to actually owning one? A friend suggested it as we currently are still without transport and just wondering if it makes financial sense?

We hired a 3.5 tonner this summer, cost £200 from Saturday to Bank holiday monday. It was fine for one horse, Ifor Williams mounted on a transit base, no-where much to store stuff and no-where to get changed of course. I don't think I would have wanted more than one 15.3 in it, along with water, haylage, tack and sister and I. We have since bought a 7.5 tonne wagon, which will be fine for our two, has a half fitted living and we can probably get three in it and still be under weight.
