sorry a general comment , why do people post for advice which is area specific and never put there location ether in the post or on there ID ???
its not much good someone recomending the name of a firm in scotland if you are in wiltshire for instance is it??...

Never used a company like that as OH is very good at that sort of thing but there is a company advertising on horsequest lorry section as nationwide coverage 7 days a week. Hope that helps.

I used the RAC to check my horsebox out before I bought it. It cost about 160 though it is a 3.5t so dont know if they do bigger vehicles. Very thorough, spent about an hour checking it over then took it for a test drive. Got a detailed report of about 7 pages !!!!! They thought the work needed would cost about 350.00 so I took the report to a garage, they quoted 300.00 so the seller just knocked it off the purchase price. Very happy all round.

Hi, Although I have been a member of the forum a while I haven't posted.However, I can recommend a REALLy good man.He checked several boxes for me before finding the one I have now. He is thorough and because he has horses, knows what to look for in the actual box department as well as mechanically.So, for example one box we looked at was really well built for the hores, but the engine(on an O2 reg 3.5t) was toally knackered, something even he hadn't expected on a newer chassis.Anyway, he is called Brad Hope, and is in Bicester, Oxon. He will travel as well.His home no is 01869 277280. I am not sure if you are allowed to put websites on this forum, but he runs Bicester Horsebox hire, so his details can be found on that webiste. I hope this helps, but he really is good, and geniune too. Sandie

Yeah,
I can recommend Brad Hope too! I am in Ireland and asked him to travel quite a long distance from where he's based to inspect a 7.5 tonner in last year. I bought the lorry based on pictures (lots of them) and Brad's recommendation. His fee is reasonable, his reports are excellent and now I know a bit more myself, his work is spot on.
I've just asked him to inspect HGV for me next week as we're thinking of upgrading - I wouldn't be doing that if he hadn't done an excellent job the first time. Good on ye Brad!

I just had a lorry inspected by Brad Hope. It was extremely thorough - he spent nearly 3 hours looking at it!

We used Brad Hope recently! Would highly highly recommend him! Did a very thorough inspection and got back to us with the report extremely quickly! Would definitely use him again!!
