Horsebox insurance issue

Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice please.
My partner is looking at buying a 7.5t lorry but has not yet got the entitlement on her license. She would like to have the lorry registered in her name as she will be doing her training and therefore eventually will be driving it herself. My question is can the lorry be 'owned' by her on the log book but insured in my name as I passed my test before 1997 or do I have to be the registered owner to insure it?

anyone can own it, just insure for any licensed driver, or named drivers whichever you prefer.

My lorry's policy was for any driver over 25, with the correct licence and my permission. It was around £200 per year. Think it's fairly common for lorry policies to be like this

Thats great. Is there a specific insurance company that people would recommend? I've seen that Adrian Flux does horsebox insurance and have used them before with my cars, does anybody use them?

we use NFU as have all the vehicles in one big policy with them. can also add on breakdown.

Good quote but the missus reversing into her mums car hasn't helped! Has sent the premium up quite a bit. God help her in a lorry!
