Recommendations please? I also want breakdown cover but am not sure if it's best to tie it all up with the insurance or get it seperately?

I've insured my horse with the NFU for years so they will be my first line of enquiry but all other suggestions welcome!

Have got NFU cover seems reasonable price. Have also got their roadside recovery which I used twice in one day. This wasn't so straight forward as they sent a normal RAC man who arrived in about 10 mins (I was very impressed) out first who fixed my diesel leak but played around with the timing so when I went to leave the event the lorry kept cutting out every time I braked. I then rang them again and it turns out that they should have sent a lorry specialist out and there is a two hour wait for that - they also seemed not to have easy access to my record of cover. A lorry mechanic eventually arrived who sorted it out within a few minutes. The call centre seemed confused as to what they should be doing. I also got a call from the horse transporter who would come to rescue my horse if the lorry had to towed. Beware they were hot on the fact that you had to have a passport (which I did).

What a nightmare, Im with NFU too and felt assured there breakdown cover would be as good as them. 2 hours is a long time to wait especially if you were broke down on a motorway or something. I'd just want the horses took home and they could sort the wagon out later!
