Looking for reasonably priced horsebox repairs EG new floor. Been to a local, very reputable manufacturer/fabricator, and their quote was eyewatering. So looking for a plan B. I know many people do their own floors, but we are sadly not able to. Certainly not looking for cheap and cheerful, but could do with trying to avoid top workshop prices if poss. Ive Googled, but can only find other fabricators which will charge a similar amount.

When you say fabricator was that horsebox maker or a general fab shop?

Have you tried Googling commercial vehicle body repairs?

What sort of floor is it? Is it only the floor?

Expand....:)

Hi. Repairs to the body like new floor, sealing the roof, electrics to living and horse area etc etc. its not a posh box so im keen to avoid posh box prices. Im assuming the floor is s timber floor of some sort (marine ply/phenolic) and its double skin. Yes ive Googled but can only find super posh websites with lorries which look like spaceships

Slightly further afield, but straight down the M5 is Huish Horseboxes - he's brilliant and will give you a loan car for as long as you need it. I take mine there from Dorset as he's trustworthy, high quality and reasonably priced.

If not too far try Tony Bolwell near Malmesbury, most people in my area use him

I phoned him earlier on. What a thoroughly nice chap and incredibly helpful. And quoted less than half of my other quote. He might be my man ! Thanks for the recommendation

if your looking at relaying the horse area floor i would really advise a aluminium plank floor but if you went with wood go with a phenolic board at least 22mm.
