Do we think the horsebox market has gone mad too, along side the horse market.

Trying to find something that ticks all my boxes but with a 50k budget has been impossible.

Only seen two that matches all my tick boxes on paper and one turned out to be shabby on the inside.
The other i love on the inside, but is an 05 plate.. older than what i ideally wanted.. and it's red, white, silver swirls. It does look smart. but i'm more of a blue, grey, white, black sort of person. Maybe i should just get over it as it ticks the boxes in other ways

For that budget you should be able to tick all the boxes!

Costs about £2.5k to respray a big box. Again, with your budget you really can get what you want! ... Unless you're looking for one of those horseboxes that's bigger than my house ...

Here was me wistfully thinking that there are lots of half-decent looking 7.5 tonne boxes around for sub £5k, that I would love to have if I could justify it (and didn't remember what a PITA plating is).

50k does not buy a gold plated box as I found when I got my first .
after several depressing weekends driving the country we had a memorable trip from Northumberland to Colchester to see a box that was a conversion not coach built , to make matters worth we had to do the trip in a defender .
after that we bit the bullet and bought a new one .
it was like trying to buy a horse but worse .

this is what i am finding. can i show the pics of the one that ticks most boxes bar the shape and colour? is is it best not to share these things on a public forum?

My friend had hers built, not cheap, but not Oakley money. https://www.solitairehorseboxes.co.uk/ A good balance between looks and function.
I have had friends have horseboxes from brand new, one a top brand, and unless the chassis is brand new you still get problems, and there is no point having shiny paintwork, and cherry units if it doesn't work properly. There should be some deals on trucks, and my idea would to have the living and horse area as a separate box, forget the looks, so can be easily moved on to a different chassis
