Hi,

Looking into MPG of horseboxes beofre i purchase my next one. Just sold a 7.5 ton Iveco, do a fair amount of miles and with cost of diesel want to save on this. Does anyone have a 6 ton, if so wehat mpg do you get? Also any 7.5 owners find theirs more economical than other models?

Thanks

Allot more depends on the weight and the aero dienamics so if you have a modern box with a rounded off luton and low unladen weight say a kevin parker its going to be better on fuel than say a old fashioned flat fronted body that is poorly build with heavy materials, then the other thing is the newer engines are better so a good light body mounted on a post 2001 chassis you should be into the twentys MPG.. ive run older lorrys which seemed to do mid teens and laterly merc atego and Daf lf both good, approx 22 mpg, merc seemed slighty better on fuel would guess later euro cargo would be simalar to daf as its the same cummins engine...
