Thank you for replies all very helpful.
16.2 is size of horses we have at moment so probably would be ok just don't know if I want to tie myself to that size max.Shame box is perfect in every other way for our needs.

Bateson Trailers have an internal height of 7'02" & they say you can carry horses of 17h high in them.

Ifor Williams 510 are a little higher & state you can carry up to 17h2" in theirs.

With a 7'05" height I think you should be able to carry at least 17h possibly taller.

I'd a 510 and my 16.2hh would have to jump to touch the ceiling, I'm 5'7 and I couldn't touch it and had to use the breast bars to open the roof vent! There's plenty of room in the 510 (7' 4" internal height) for 17.2hh

So if your's is 7' 5 then you can take up to 17.2

Hi, yes it is, ive got room for 3 ponies, but with the 2 horses, i have about a foot spare behind a partition for tack etc. I generally have my partitions herringbone, so that horses are facing slightly to the rear of the lorry

hope that helps

My Ifor 510 is 7ft 6" internally

Personally I would not want anything shorter than this in a horse box as my horses are likely to get bigger. If possible an 8ft clearance is ideal as you still see quite a few horseboxes where a horse has punched a hole in the roof with their head.

Thanks for replies.
Think OH will just want to keep looking.
Its a nightmare everytime we increase our budget prices seem to rise to match.......
