Hi

So rather stupidly I have been loading my (very heavy) lad with my ramp on an uneven surface (higher on one side) this has resulted in the end (very heavey duty) hinge bending up slightly which in turn means the ramp is a couple of mm higher that side and the spinning lock thing at the side that holds the ramp closed no longer fits easily through it's arm. I have been trying to get hold of my mechanic but he's not answering.

Am now panicking as got loads of stuff coming up, and in my head I am worried it won't be fixable! Husband thinks I am mad and of course it can be fixed but I am worried, anyone done anything similar or got any welding knowledge who can put my mind at rest?!

You need a metal fabricator to fix it for you. We have just had our ramp strengthened after The Gnome, all 850kg of him bounced on it. It warped/twisted and we could not get it open. Just as well he did it on the way out, otherwise he would have been camping for some while.

You are little too far away for our man to be of use to you.

Yep mine is knocking on for 700kg and does tend to bounce up the ramp, was trying to get him to bounce on the bent side on his way out but he just gave me a funny look and went straight down the middle! Will try mechanic again tom to see if he does welding if not then sounds like I can get any metal fabricator on the job then. Thanks for advice :)

Thanks, hopefully not too bad as still goes up and down ok, just looks like the end hinge needs whacking back down and rewelding to support, but baring in mind I know nothing about these things I might be horribly wrong.. why can't I own a Shetland..
