Hi,

I have a horsebox I am looking to have resprayed to freshen it up, 3 horse smoothsided. Anyone in Scotland had one sprayed and pleased with it, if so where. Reasonable prices preferred.

Thanks

possibly a long shot here, you could try contact peter beck he sells horseboxes and trailers, he may have some contacts for sprayers not sure if he does them :/

Depends where you are and how far you are prepared to travel, we used J E Douglas at Duns a few years ago and were pleased. There was also a place at Airth and Kinnears at Saline. On the West coast there's Malcolms at Linwood who did a friends respray very nicely but it was £££'s

My Dad is about to do mine - he has a garage, so has all the gear and does cars all the time (and several horse lorries too). So I'm not having to pay for time, equipment or anything, and for my 24ft lorry the paint, primer, clear lacquer etc is apparently going to be £500. And that's trade. For that I'll get a pretty fancy paint job I suspect, and my body is a bit tatty right now so that may increase the cost in terms of undercoat etc, but that may give you a ballpark figure to which you'd obviously have to add labour etc.

Oh he's in Aberdeen by the way if that's of interest ;)

Thanks for the replies, had couple quotes this week and going to try kinnear too, prices seems to vary massively! Got couple more to get so will see how they go.

£500 is a-maz-ing-ly cheap. I have a 3.5 tonne in pristine white (so no labour getting it sanded etc) and the cheapest quote I had was £1500.. I left it as it was and bought some lovely swirly stickers for £80 instead, lol!!

Polotash - that wasn't a quote! That was my Dad buying the paint etc at trade prices as that is what he does. That didn't include any labour or garage mark-up etc, I know it will take him days on and off to do it (loads of coats needed, plus I want some fancy swirls etc) so the "real" price, if I was paying it, would be a heck of a lot more

I just wanted to give the approx materials price as a reference point really.
