Hi All,

Don’t want to risk sounding like an advert, so I’ll just say I’ve had my safe and tidy box for sale for a few weeks. It’s a good example in of its type (which is normally popular), and there’s not a lot of for sale in my area. I really scratched my head on pricing it as there wasn’t much about to work from – I took some advice from someone in the industry and the H&H good-sense approach of price it highish to start with and see how it goes! I’ve had 4 asks to view but no one actually confirm/show up. The lack of action tells me it’s a bit over priced and will follow the plan and drop the price a bit. I believe I’ve hit all the right beats in my advert (good photos, safety/build features, payload, service history etc)…

So, H&H Guru’s – am I missing anything on where its advertised? So far I’ve gone with Facebook and Horsemart as free and reasonably priced options. Is there any others that are worth paying for? It’s a sub £10k sale.

And – what do we think is happening with the market? I’m actually getting the impression that sales are slowing – I don’t see much evidence that the other boxes I see for sale in the same (or higher) price bracket are selling promptly either. Someone in the industry suggested theory to me that a few key sellers have been regularly stepping up their prices, selling then for less. Which is totally legitimate but that enough people see their ads, benchmark against them and this is one of the factors pushing the prices up. Just adding that in as an interesting thought.
And obviosuly we're all affected by the cost of living/everything trouble.

Any kind and helpful advice/tips on the above ramble very welcome ?

A v good friend has been trying to sell her 7.5 for 3 months, her new box has arrived. Despite cutting the price right down, she's only had one to see it. That was a lady who wanted hubbie to buy it, he refused as wanted a cheap trailer, but had gone along to please wife....
I don't know what you are selling, but where I am, anything remotely legal and up to 3.5 is selling almost before advert goes live. Bigger boxes are not really shifting unless they are up to around 12 yrs old.
Friends box is immaculate inside & out and well maintained mechanically, BUT, its 22 yrs old and has just over 210 tho miles on the clock. Not many want an old box, regardless of how its presented.
Thought about sending it on 'sales livery'?

Yep, mine can be driven on any car license and is ready to go so I thought I'd have more than day dreamers interested... its is older though, basic but tidy... maybe that's the sticking point.
The original company building my new one were more local to me and were going to take it on "Sales livery" :D but then pulled of the build due to unforseen personal reasons. After that I thought I'd sell it myself and have a bit more in my hand towards the new one. If I'm lucky ;)
Would consider it again though if anyone has recomendations wales/west?
