I am thinking about buying a small horsebox, if I can find the right sort.

I need a box which can carry two hefty native ponies. Neither is over 13.2 but both are very solid and I am working on an estimate of 1000kg for the pair. Possibly being a little unkind to them as I'm sure they don't really weigh quite that much but I'd rather over estimate than under.
I don't want any living so no gas hobs, fridges or anything like that.
I can drive up to 7.5 ton on my licence but don't really want a huge lorry.

So far all I have seen are boxes with so much 'living' stuff in it they're more like a motorhome. And they leave very little weight free for actually carrying a pony, let alone two. As well as looking slightly feeble, bodywise.

Sorry to moan on, but it is very frustrating, especially as I can't afford to have one made for me but am doomed to scour the second hand ads, in perpetual hope and despair!

I spent ages trying to find a cheap light box...after seeing some appauling things for sale on ebay and the like we've ended up employing someone to convert a Mercedes van for us. Costing us £4k incl the vehicle and conversion and he's doing it to our requirements (no living everything as light as can be). It's taking forever cos he's doing other jobs inbetween but to be honest I'm happy to wait to ensure we get something that is up to the job. Other problem is he's half way across the country so it's not easy to correspond but it's working so far!!
