Horseboxes - Partitions?

I am on the hunt for a new horsebox, and was just considering partitions. All the horseboxes I have owned have had the telescopic style partitions, with half rubber to the floor. It now seems more popular to have the H style partitions. I was wondering which is best, ie, safest, easiest etc. What do people prefer and why? I have 2 youngsters who are not the greatest travellers so didn't know if which would be the best to go for.

I like the H ones, cant really think of the reason why though
Mine has telescopic and I suppose the beauty of them is they are a bit more adaptable, as in you can angle them if need be to give more room, where as the H ones cant be made longer to fit.

One thing I really dont like with some partitions is the gaps left in where a tack locker would be. Great for human access but awful for a horse that may see it as an escape route

Our mare did that but soon discovered she was too large. She scraped her back but didnt suffer too much

The problem with the H style is that you can't adjust them without having to move the whole thing and you are fixed as to the angle you have them at so say you have a horse that likes more room in front for example (as I did once) you can't do that. Also, I would tack up on my old lorry by swinging the partition wider open but then pinning it closed so that it would not swing open or back onto the horses, obviously you can't do that with H partitions. My 3.5t truck had H partition so when I tacked up I would move the partition over and hold it there with a bunge strap but not ideal.

Good point, may well stick with the telescopic style as I like being able to tack up on the lorry with the partitions shut to provide security! As long as they are tied up properly I shouldn't imagine they could try to get through the gap.

I prefer the telescopic. I dont like tack lockers in the horse area anyway as too many horses try get on top of them! I also like to makes sure the partitions are nice and high with a decent head grill that the horse cannot get their head back and over. I have never had a horse try get under the front bar of the telescopic partition though. I am sure there are some who will try anything though. Tie them up tight enough then they won't be able to get ther head under!
