I am so struggling here on what to do????????

I am on great search for a new build or still very smart 2nd hand box. I have good budget 15k-20k:-

1 - Must are 7.5 t decent engine with good service record, pay load 2 ton, tilting cab or very easy good access for garage IS a must. Like Ivecos but if you know better, please supply info.

2 - Horse area good construction of floor and ramp, easy wash down and easy ramp closing, NO lockers in horse area but tack locker on outside into living space.

3-last my area:seating, lights, hob, sink, fridge, leisure battery system, oustside hook up, would be nice over cab sleeping (so need good system for tilting on cab and keep water proof inside) and cut through would be nice

I have resourced a couple of companies BUT i need recommendations - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the ones to avoid. Would be good, if any companies in South West/Mildlands

I know i have lots of phoning to do

thx

To get a 2 ton payload on a 7.5 ton lorry & have living as you wanted I recommend you contact Tristar as well. I have a 7.5 ton Tristar on a Daf chassis, retaining the tilt cab, with living & my ulw is 5.6 tons so 1.9 tons of payload.

I think you need to go for a purpose built box to get that sort of patload. Conversions are invariably heavier. Be careful about how many gadgets etc you have in the living as you can soon eat up payload.

Good Luck

I had one built or should I say converted last year (2001 chassis) and it cost me just over £20k. I have a basic living, hob, sink, table, laminate floor, very good IMO horse area, tilt cab etc. Its an Iveco and is 5.3t unladen. I couldnt get anything decent on a newish chassis for less than that. Ive recently advertised mine through lack of use and have had little responce. Someone has rang tonight (yeahhhh) I dont know if they have come down in price but if you can get what you want in a new build for less than £20k, snap there hands off.
Off to look at Tristar now
