Anyone else out there in the same sort of situation? I used to share a beautiful Dales pony but I had to give him up unfortunately as I couldn't manage the days I had to be up there due to school :/. It sucked cause he was so amazing and I felt that we got on so well. so now basically I have spent months looking for a horse to share and found absolutely nothing. I haven't been near a horse in over 2 months and it's driving me CRAZY! Horses are literally the best thing in my life and I am so lost without them. So I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who was in the same boat?

I moved to Spain in september. It was december before I found anywhere to ride and feb before I felt confident enough in my spanish to arrange lessons with the YO. I so feel your pain. It drove me crazy seeing my riding hat everyday and not be able to use it.

Ditto.

I haven't been able to loan or share due to lack of money and difficult working hours. I haven't sat on a horse since the summer. I also work in a tack shop and do the tradestands at shows.....so I am regularly surrounded by beautiful competition horses and stuff in the shop that I can't buy!!!

To top it all off I'm moving to London in the next month or so...even less chance of riding/sharing/owning probably!

I'm 23, wanted a horse since I was little....will have to wait a while longer! But it will be very worthwhile in then end.

This is a problem! I don't know what prices are like in other parts of the country but I was paying 25 an hour. :( maybe you'll be able to find a share or something!

FM where do you live? Have you tried posting an ad on gumtree? I've ended up stuffing all my riding things in a cupboard cause I can't look at them. It's so annoying -.-. It especially bugs me when people always say to me that they want ANOTHER horse and that's it's so UNFAIR that their parents won't get them one. I'm like heh trying living with no horse! Umbongo, have you considered searching gumtree and such for horses that need more exercised in London? Or posted an ad there? There are some people out there who don't look for money but need the help! You could suggest pop picking and such in exchange for riding. It is honestly so horrible being without a horse >.<. I've wanted a horse for years and it hasn't happened but I'm hoping in the future! Good luck everyone >.<!

Don't think I can afford it, maybe one lesson a month! Can't afford lessons here in Somerset and I'm not paying any rent, let alone when I start paying rent in London town :(

If it is any help the cheapst I know of is Mudchute at £27 for an hour lesson.

For those not able to have a horse at the moment, is it is worth thinking about volunteering at a riding school? Gets you around horses and they normally let you ride in exchange. Lots of the London stables rely on volunteers. Pretty sure Lee Valley has lots.

So true! Volunteering is a great way to get involved with horse :3. I used to volunteer with RDA, but I didn't have any time so I had to give it up which is rubbish! I thoroughly recommend it :P.

I'm on the Wilts/Somerset/Dorset border.... so the wrong part of the country!!!

That sucks! No wonder you have difficulties finding someone.

My mare had to be pts in July and I didn't start riding again until Feb. Now ride once a week at a riding school and its just not the same. I normally cry the night after my lesson because it makes me miss Lulu even more :(

Aw no. That's terrible! Poor you Becca-84. Never give up on riding and anytime you feel like crying think of how you got to meet your beautiful mare and how you recieved the amazing opportunity of owning such a beautiful horse. She's always with you and looking over you. Never forget that. I'm sure she misses you as much as you miss her, but you'll see her again one day at Rainbow Bridge :). Stay strong :). I'm sure she would want you to carry on riding so you don't get rusty when you meet her next ;). She'll always be clip-clopping by your side every day for the rest of your life. Never forget that. And anytime you need support, remember that there will ALWAYS be people here to talk to you :). Xx
