Horseless and in need of some help!

as a result of the bad weather the lady that OH hires from has turned all her horses away as she feels she can't keep them fit enough... lord knows why not as the rest of us manage without an indoor school or any fast work during the week. (but that's another story) - the result is that OH is left with another 4 weeks of hunting and no horse unless i'm not out and he can take mine (not going to happen unless I'm ill!)

So, rant over, we are looking for a horse he can borrow/hire in return for helping out getting ready, mucking out etc.

We are hunting Bilsdale country but most of the rest of the season is lowland stuff so grassland and forestry. Our country has little or no plough. For those who don't know, Bilsdale is north east of Thirsk.

If you can help please get in touch! :(
 
Could you not ask to 'loan' usual hireling until the end of the season?

Sorry, down in south west so not much help!
 
the problem is that we don't have anywhere to put him if we loaned him, and she's not prepared to try to keep him fit. part of the problem is that she's 5'2" and he's 18.1hh, the rest is a bit political and petty IMO.

it's really wound me up tbh. OH had 8 days booked between xmas and end of season and hes not got any of them in (lost 2 due to bad weather), so not only has he lost 8 days worth of subs money, but she's lost out on £400 and then whinges about it being a rubbish season for her money wise!

Sorry, I'll stop ranting now.
 
:-( sorry to hear this Jen... if i had another horsie to lend i'd pack him up to you guys... no one else in the hunt have a neddy that could be hunted?x
 
I wish I was closer (I'm Derbyshire) as my big horse really needs more experience out hunting as he's a big bold creature. Also I don't have transport at the moment so couldn't even get him to a fairly close by meet.

unfortunately we all seem to be 'one horse wonders'!! someone has offered a straight out of racing TB, OH will go ride him over the weekend to see what he thinks, but it's done nothing for the last 3 months so its hardly fit.

should say that we'd be prepared to cover fuel costs!! :grin:
