Are these suitable for breeding stock?? i remember reading an article somewhere where people used these..I have a mare in foal and was wondering if i fed her hay/haylage alongside the block would it be sufficient for her in the winter..

I'm not sure I would allow my horses unlimited access to it as they LOVE it! I do allow them to have it as a quick treat but thats about it. I have also used it to load my youngster rather than a bucket of food.

Hi

I wouldnt feed this ad lib ie without supervision - some horses gorge on them so be careful as full of sugar. I do use them as a treat but I couldnt leave my horse with it as she would eat it all. I know other people on my yard dont have a problem leaving them in a stable overnight.

I would suggest a rockies mineral lick - this is not molasses based so they will not gorge on them.
