Hi can I have your opinions on this mare, sorry I know I should have linked it some how , but failed miserably,I am thinking about going to see her tomorrow, but for her age is she a little expensive, or am I out of touch slightly, bought my last beautiful mare 15 years ago, bless her.

SHE IS 15 3 hh aged 14 Tb done a little bit of everything, at local level asking 3750.Its just the age thing !

Is this the ad?

[EDIT cant get link to work ]
I like the sound of her , the price isn't bad considering what she comes with (though don't know the quality of it)

she looks lovley but i do think the price is steep !! and you have to take into consideration on tb's are sometimes harder to look after when they get older but she seems ideal for hacking, local shows ect... but nothing but like to affill. because of her age once you get going you may have to start stoping , if you know what i mean. Personally i would'nt want to buy something that may invite problems or heart break did it once never again, i've recently bought a excellent horse 6yrs prefect:D good luck and get back to me if you go see her, for all we know she could be a young at heart type of mare and could go on happly and healthly forever

I personally think that she looks fab!! I am looking for more than that for my 14 year old, I dont think it is a bad price, but you would have to see what she is like first hand. Best of luck!

She looks like a lovely mare. She is being sold with all her rugs and tack so that would add up to about £1000, so if you took all the tack out then she would be for sale at under £3000.

i think she looks lovely as in a sensible been there done it ride, Asfor the price ide try to drop it down abit!

Ive got a 11yr old TB and she's been there and been affiliated!! And to be honest we have our days but i wouldnt change her for the world!

Sounds reasonably priced to me if she is as they describe.

She looks lovely and if she is what you are looking for I would not be put off by her age.

Looks lovely. Age def. wouldn't figure, when i saw the replies I was expecting a 25yr old or something!

looks a lovely fun sort of horse, age wouldn't put me off
and price seems reasonable to me
how many of you would sell your 14 years old good allrounder for less than that.
good luck i hope she is as lovely as she looks in the advert

I think she looks super - if you can find something else that looks as good, for the same money but younger, knock them down, otherwise I'd snap her up if she is as nice as the pics look

I bought my Tb mare in sept last year age 13 and she fab age wouldn't bother me i did buy her of a known eventer who maintained her fitness, i wanted a sj and eventer and since owning her i have won several sj competitions she has £167 on her card and i lover her to bits, through the winter i kept her well rugged and fed.

i always went for youngseters but was really put off by my last one and went for a been an done it and i'm so glad i did!!

14 years old realy wouldnt bother me at all. i currently have a 25 yearold doing working hunter! 18 yearolds have gone round badminton so if your only looking for local hunter trials and small events then do it. my friends cob was winning PC ODE's at 20 years old, they arent that difficult to keep going into thier old age!

Possibly get her to drop the price to 3.5k if you can but if they will not drop the price then i would buy her anyway!

The look on the riders face in the last two pics says it all for me!

That was my first thought, the riders smile pretty much sells the horse, as she is being sold for fun at local level. I'd pay that if I could have a safe, enjoyable ride who looked after me.

She looks nice and the age is not a problem but I'm sorry people I have to disagree on the price. I personally would not pay that amount of money for a 14 year old tb no matter how well he or she had done beforehand. On the other hand if I was buying a decent mare to ride, safe and sensible and then would possibly think about breeding from her in the near future then yes.
If this was a gelding the price would be cheaper. Personally I reckon the asking price is also targetting buyers who would ride and breed. Her potential as a broodmare would be very good especially as she looks to have a great temperament, jump and conformation. All are ticks in the right boxes when considering a horse as a potential broodmare.
So long as you are happy with the price then I would say go for her if she meets your needs.
Like someone said on here tbs can be a bit scatty and hard to train but she looks a nice sort and laid back. The pictures of the girl smiling says it all. A nice uncomplicated ride. She looks like she is having the time of her life and not riding a tb with no brakes.

I think she looks great, i wouldn't be put off by her age at all and as others have said with her whole wardrobe included that would come to at least £1000. So maybe its a fair price, but there's always some room for negotiation!!
