My horsey is going to the horsepital tomorrow for x-rays and teeth extractions. Am worried sick.

Please send some of those famous HHO positive vibes.

Many thanks x

Hey, it's the best place for him to be treated, all those experts and mega facilities, he'll be fine. Try not to worry.

My horse went to the horsepital 2 weeks ago for a night, I was worried sick but she coped really well and didn't get worried at all. In fact was munching hay in the stable after her investigation I think she thought she had moved! It is really not as bad as you imagine, they normaly give sedation for xrays as they have to keep compleatly still. Good luck!

Thank you both very much. I will be having a few sleepless nights.

Any tips for getting a large strapping horse to load? He is ok with trailers, but hates lorries and that is all I could hire. The worry starts even before we get there.

He'll be fine. My baby pony went last Friday and he was like see ya and ignored me as he had new exciting things. The nurses are normally horsey and mine was fussed over and everything - I have had one in previously for a very serious op and she was looked after really well as well. Where is he going? As for loading ust try and make it as stress free as possible - bribe him - have a buckets and treats and stuff. Normally would say practice and stuff but you obviously need to get him on as quickly and stress free as poss. If bribing him doesn't work then I find a chifney works - people might disagree but I have seen horses getting in a right state with people trying to get them on for hours and hours when it can take 2 mins with a chifney - stress over.

my boy is not long out of horsepital after spending 16 days in and i can honestly he he was in the best place and all the staff were wondwerful and he coped realy well. the down side was it cost £30 a day for him being there. we humans tend to do the worrying as the horses all seem to do fine

OH thats just fantastic news that he's home...yes it does cost us a fortune but worth it though huh?

Glad hes on the mend....
