I saw Part 1 of of Horsepower with Martin Clunes for the first time last night and enjoyed it.

However, in the "discussion" between Clunes and Monty Roberts after he'd tried join up with his own horse, did anyone else spot the blooper? Martin Clunes clips his lead rope onto his dually headcollar, but it miraculously swaps itself from one ring to another and back again during their conversation. I found it distracting and was amazed no-one noticed at the time!

In this clip it's from about 8:35 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0gXlWi_RVw&feature=relmfu

I didn't notice. Did have 7yr old daughter watching it with me though. Who is now determined she will teach her pony to play head nudging as per the guy on the beach.

I realise we all know really that things aren't what they seem on tv, but mistakes like this remind us of that fact rather harshly! I started wondering if maybe the whole conversation was scripted and took lots of takes, and I prefered to believe it was all "real". :D

I didn't notice, but the biggest mistake I've ever seen in a movie...one that grates me every damned time I see it, is in Lord of the Rings.

Merry and Pipping are captured and the Horsemen attack the camp, they start to escape, but a horse rears up over Pippin. His hands were tied when the horse started to rear, but are untied as the camera looks down on him, then are tied again when he rolls away!! It's so obvious and annoying XD

I doubt there is a movie released that doesn't have some kind of continuity failures - sometimes they make for very interesting watching cause you rarely spot them on the first viewing :D I suppose all TV/movies are at risk of this though

At least that's a film Nah, so you already know it's not real though...

I know, but it still annoys the hell out of me :P
To be honest, the probably spent all day in there and just used the best bits. My brother is often an extra in TV and films, and he tells me how boring it is, with take after take after take. Even in real things!

I didn't notice that either! But yes, I know what you mean about it making it not seem real.

I was in the film Essex boys as an extra :o In the scene I am in I am on one side of the room one minute and then walking across the other side the next! :D

Years ago I worked for the Wildfowl Trust at a reserve. The BBC were doing a short documentary which involved wandering through the grounds "discovering" small wildlife, eg caterpillars, as they went along.

One of the crew came into my office and explained his job was to walk ahead of the film unit preparing their route. He asked did I have some glue he could borrow which would be suitable for glueing caterpillars to leaves!:(

I noticed the clip on the dually thing too, and realised the conversation couldn't have been quite as we heard it.

I wondered if martin's horse had been a bit bored and started fidgeting and the lead rope then went on the noseband each time.

The film Free Willy has the worst continuity...Jessie lies on whale, go under water together...next clip...Jessie still lying on whale but is bone dry. I wish I dried that quickly from swimming.

I noticed it! And I have to admit I did not pay any atention to their conversation... Instead I too was wondering where the lead rope would be clipped next ;)

But did any of you notice that when the big grey was galloping in the surf there were splashes in front and behind where they had obviously airbrushed two other horses out. :D
