horserugs4u.com

I too orderd 2 rugs from horseriugs 4 u. Ordered them November, nothing arrived, so I cancelled the order in December.made numerous telephone calls to them loads of excuses. Sent them emails. Was given advice from trading standards to ring my bankm as I paid by my visa debit card the bank was great. They recredit my account. I sent them all the information I had from copies of emails etc. Now the bank is chasing them at least I got my money back. They should go to prison RIP OFF MERCHANTS...

Just in case anyone is still having trouble with this site (i'm sure people are...) I've been getting on their case for my girlfriend and i've finally spoken to someone there called Dean who has emailed me the following (which apparently she should have got as a letter 4 months ago)

______

We have to advise you today we are unable to supply the goods that you ordered and due to severe pressure from our bank we are unable to process the refund of £108.55 (VISA Debit).

There is a solution below for most cases. It depends on the type of card you have; credit card or debit card.

Credit Cards

You can claim for amounts between £100 and £30,000. You should contact your credit card company and ask for a refund as the goods you ordered have not been supplied. The date you can use for when you expected them to be supplied can be today’s date. “A part of credit card law, introduced in the 1970s and known as section 75, means that credit card companies must take responsibility for refunding customers their money if the goods they bought never turn up or the supplier goes bust. The total cost of the goods you are paying for must be more than £100 and less than £30,000 for the law to apply.”

Debit Cards

If you have a Visa Debit card, there is no restriction to the amount you can claim. You should contact the bank that supplied your debit card and ask then to initiate the “Visa Debit Chargeback” process as the goods you ordered have not been supplied. The date you can use for when you expected them to be supplied can be today’s date. It does not mean you will immediately get your money back. It will initially become a ‘dispute’ in which the claim will be fully investigated by both banks before any money is returned. From the time you start the process it should take 4-6 weeks. I

f you have a Mastercard Maestro Debit card there is no system for obtaining a refund. We apologise for this situation.

We have been trying to find a solution with our bank for three months without success. Our bank is one of the new Government owned banks, who were asked by our Government to help small businesses. We have found no evidence of this!

Sincerely,

Cam equestrian ltd are still a live business on companies house, but the phone line on their website is dead. The fact that either of these businesses is still accepting new business is a bit of a joke...

just thought this might help some of you anyway!

Just to add to my post above, just spoke to the bank and for debit cards at least the query needs to be raised with the bank within 120 days...

Just to add - as recently as MONDAY of this week I had an email from this dispicable company advising of their "sale". PLease people dont touch them with a barge pole! How they are allowed to advertise still is beyond me. Copy every forum you know to let folks know of the situation. They will without exception happily take your money in full knowledge that they are unable to fulfil the order. CAVEAT EMPTOR (buyer beware)

Just going back through the mists of time (to when I spent most nights in the pub so things are a little hazy:D) you used to get a lovely catalogue from CAM equestrian it was quite a big company - was it not bought out by Derby House ???? or was that just the stable side ????

I loved the CAM catalogue too - posh stables and accessories mmmm - didn't know they were attached to this lot. Also got stung by hrfu but managed to cancel the order which they blamed on the supplier to :( - I think I got my money back, could never work it out from statements for some reason

I can't believe they are giving this as an excuse. They advertise goods that they clearly don't have, take money from people then blame the bank for not lending them the money to refund customers?? Unbelievable. Given that people here are talking about orders LAST YEAR why are they only now trying to 'find a solution'?. I remember looking at them once before and thinking the prices were too good to be true. Obviously they were.

Wonder who supplies their merchant facilities ie the ability to take credit cards. That's what needs to switched off so that they stop being able to debit peoples cards. Does anyone have a card reciept (one that's actually printed on a till roll rather than an internet receipt? If we could get that Merchant ID we could try to alert them. Just a thought!

Yeah it's a bit of a joke! Think i'll be going to trading standards anyway especially given the amount of money that could be involved with some of their products. Tried to call Cam and their number is disconnected. Emailed Dean back to ask what the next move is given that it's been 6 months + since the order and the bank won't get involved now!

Quite unbelievable that they are trying to blame the bank for their problems, when it is perfectly obvious that they are a badly run company, with poor customer service and numerous complaints going back at least 8 years (check other forums). I should think the banks/credit card companies have finally got fed up with having to re-imburse people for goods they've paid for and never received. I was one of the lucky ones who got my money back last year, but it took months of hassling them. They must have been reported to Trading Standards, Watchdog and Companies House countless times over the years and yet still they trade! I too wonder why the credit card/debit card providers still deal with them as it made me think everything must be ok with them when I placed my order.

I've given "Dean" til the end of the day to come back to me or i'll go down a different path... contemplating small claims court to be honest because there's no doubt they owe us the money (they've confirmed it in writing to me) so any fees i had to pay they'd end up paying me for and if they don't turn up to court then the bailiffs will just go round and remove £150's worth of stuff from their offices! :D

I have unfortunately only just come across this saga.... I have paid in full 4 weeks ago for an item which showed in stock on the 'CAM' website. They took the payment (credit card) and stated a 6 week delivery. When I chased this today, they couldnt give a firm delivery date at all. I really need this stable door asap, anyone else still having problems?

Oh my Lordy this is bad enough for a watch dog issue. That email is the biggest load of Trollop I've read. It's the banks fault, we are with a new bank. WTF

Can't believe that this company is still going, I order some rugs from them about 3/4 years ago now .. same old story, no rugs no refund, I eventually complained the trading standards about them and managed to get a refund through my credit card ... unbelievable that they are allowed to continued to rip people off !
