Take a look in the"Stable Yard" forum - you will find lots of info there. My advice is to contact your credit card company straight away!

Yep, old story I'm afraid. Hope you get your money back or the rugs eventually.

I ordered a rug from horserugs4u in November also, they sent me this email on Dec 2nd after they took my money, I believe that to take money knowing that you cannot deliver the goods is fraudulent!

"As soon as we have your goods we are We are writing to advise of a possible delay with your order. We are in our busiest time of the year and are experiencing slower than normal deliveries from our suppliers. This means we are shipping slower than normal. We are trying to ensure you have your goods within 10 days but their will be cases where it takes maybe another week".

I am still waiting, they ignore all emails, I have given them to the end of this week to refund or deliver however I don't expect either to happen, next step is the credit card company.

It's worth spending a little more money to order goods from a more reputable company and actually receive them! STAY WELL AWAY FROM HORSERUGS4U.

Do a search on this forum. Members' experiences will tell you all you need to know. A couple of years ago I ordered a rug. Months went by, no rug. Finally, after exact same problems as you are now having, I got to speak with the MD who very carefully explained that they DO NOT HOLD ANY STOCK. They advertise, wait to see if there's a good response, then go looking to source the product at the lowest price they can. He offered me a totally unsuitable replacement which I declined. Took months and threats of Trading Standards, credit card company action, X Ray, local paper, local MP's surgery, police (fraud) to finally get my money back. Unbelievably, they still send me brochures!

They had a big sale on after Christmas and I was a bit wary of ordering after everthing I had read on this forum (although I had ordered in the past with no problems) but did order in the end (bargain 6 rugs for about £80!) and the whole order arrived no problem after a few days! However if you still haven't had your order from November I think I would be contacting my credit card provider about this.

They never have anything in stock, they just wait until they have enough orders for the things they claim to have on their website then place an order with the supplier and blame them for slow delivery. It took me months to get my money back from them.

You can speak to Trading Standards about them - I had to mention I'd spoken to TS to HR4U in order to get my money back, and I still got an abusive phone call from their MD.

I was listening to something on R4 the other day about things like this. If a company doesn't deliver goods you have ordered within a certain time period (I think it was 8 weeks), you can cancel the contract with them. There might be something on the Radio 4 website about it, or try speaking to Consumer Direct. If you paid by credit card then your card issuer should be able to help you get the money back.

avoid them like the plague!

i ordered about £150 worth of stuff from them in may last year (first and last order i will ever place with them), after 4 months of chasing them and trying to get my money back or my order contacting trading standards ext i finally got my money back through my bank. and got horserugs4u to cancel my contract. in november i got a letter from a credit agency stating i owed them £567!!!!!!!! for my orders at horserugs4u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused::confused:
so i called the credit company and horserugs4u and asked them wtf was going on and asked them to send me a copy of the apparent order.... 2 weeks later i recieved the "invoice" they was trying to charge me for the order i had made all those months ago 3 times! and because i had apparently not paid they had charged me fees ontop of that too.
i set a copy of the REAL order form (which i had saved) along with a bank statement from when the money went out to them and when it came back to me from the bank along with a copy of the cancellation letter which they sent me. and a snotty note off me saying i would be very willing to contact a solicitor and take this matter to court and try and claim compo for them putting a black mark on my sqeeky clean credit history!:mad::mad:

they sent me a letter just before xmas saying they had made an error and will not be taking the matter any further, and as a sign of good will they would give me 30% off my next order!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: the cheek of it!

never will buy anything from them again! buyer beware!

thank you for all your comments. my credit card company are now dealing with the money that horserugs4u.com has STOLEN off me.
i have still had no email or phone call from hr4u. how can they legally take money off you when they dont have the goods in stock!
i have also emailed horse&hound as i got the brochure through the magazine but as yet ive had no repy! do they not care that their readers are been ripped off?

Crikes I was only looking at their website the other night, but after reading all this I will stay well away.

I hope you manage to get your monies back everyone.....how awful :(

I also got shafted although I did manage to get my money back. I just kept calling and NEVER left a message..just waited for someone to answer...... Good luck

I am having the same problem!! I ordered a rug from them on 16th January and they took the money from my credit card (£131.15) the same day....cannot get them on the phone and no reply to my emails that I sent to customer services.. I have contacted my credit card company and they say to wait until February 16th and phone again and have noted my details down. I have left messages on their answerphone to cancel my order and refund my card. Beware....of them....I will certainly not be dealing with them again!!!!!!!!

A couple of years ago I also ordered a rug which took around three months to come and then when it did come it was faulty. I complained to them but at the end of the day they never replied to any communication.
Great way to run a business, take everyones money, let it lie in your account for a few months, get a bit of interest then try and find the rug!! Stay well clear of them !!

if you have a look on horse gossip (i always seem to be saying this :D) but there is a thread runing on there that has been up dated today advising everyone that the company behind this website has been struck off the register.

Cant remember if it was this week or last - but there are a few on there waiting for refunds/rugs too

Just checked the info out
Horserugs4u is the trading name for CAM Equestrian--so that is where your money goes

http://www.horserugs4u.com/acatalog/info.html

Checking CAM Equestrian at Companies House you find company dissolved from 1st Feb 2011

Just going back through the mists of time (to when I spent most nights in the pub so things are a little hazy:D) you used to get a lovely catalogue from CAM equestrian it was quite a big company - was it not bought out by Derby House ???? or was that just the stable side ????

I believe that CAM went bankrupt in about 2001/2002 (I lost a fair bit of money with that) and I think the stable business was bought by Derby House.

Regarding Horserugs4u, I have not know anyone who has ordered anything from them and not had the money go out of their account immediately followed by a very looooong wait for the rug to turn up

Checking with Companieshouse.gov.uk They trade under CAM Equestrian, Marsh Bank, Lyonshall, Kington, Herefordshire. Company Number 06914589 and DISSOLVED 01/02/2011!!!
I have contacted my credit card company but they say I have to wait 30 days from my order 16th January (when they took money from my card) until 16th February and contact Mastercard again.

This is exactly the reason I like to support my local tack shop, It doesn't work out much more expensive for total peace of mind and getting the item there and then!

Maybe someone should contact Panorama! Or that Mary Portas regarding this company!

I have never shopped with them just looked on their website and notice they are trading under CAM Equestrian Ltd. Is this the same as the catalogue I used to get in the post?

Yes I remember as well but think Derby House just took over the stables

I bought the most fantastic electric fence posts from CAM, they were French made
I have never seen them since anywhere else.

They are very tall (approx 2m) sharpened to a point and you knock then into the ground like a conventional post. My ground is gravel so putting in a 4inch wooden post is a nightmare. Ordinary electric fence posts just do not make a safe fence in this ground.

The clips which hold the tape or rope spring off the top of the posts if an animal runs into it and are easily put back. It seems safer than posts with a sharp piece of metal at the bottom
The river floods across part of my land and these posts rarely come out of the ground.

Oh no so many of you suffering the same problem as me! I ordered two rugs early November 2010, my money was taken straight away and they promised my rugs within one week, mid December still no rugs so phoned them and they confirmed the order had not been sent as rugs out of stock so I asked for a refund which they said they would do within 3 days and guess what they did not refund a penny so I have lost over £100 as paid on debit card :(
They do not answer the phone any more and have ignored every email I have sent them including small claims court email. Looks like I have lost my money for definite now if they have gone under again :(
So unfair they were allowed to continue to take money from people knowing they did not have the rugs to send and that they could never refund anyones money.

Hi,

Just to let you know I am also experiencing issues with horserugs4u.com.

I placed an order on the 6th Feb. It was cancelled 2 weeks later and I was promised a refund. Nothing has been received and no-one is returning my calls.

I am a member of the Consumer Complaints Forum (CCF) so I have posted the details there:
http://www.consumercomplaintsforum.co.uk/ccf/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=271

Hopefully things will get sorted out but in the meantime - avoid horserugs4u or CAM Equestrian!!!

Regards,
Ian

Another thought

Could those of you caught up in this write to BBC Watchdog

http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/

You could try this, but they didn't want to know about a mobile phone scam I was scammed by.

What annoys me as someone else said, they get their catalogue enclosed with various horse magazines which makes it look like they are ligit.

I think CAM went out of business yonks ago, Derby House bought them out and now Derby House has been bought by someone else, can't remember who, it goes on ...................

I have ordered in the past with no problem, this was before i'd heard about their reputation. I wouldnt order again.
I heard they have recently gone bankrupt??

Something very odd going on with them atm! They are trying to relocate their storage unit (this will be the 3rd time they have moved their storage unit) and are trying to say they are traiding under a differnt name now... Be careful guys. I won't buy from anyone who you havnt been recomended was good.

If you look on Horsegossip, Trec Uk and IHDG forums you will see many fairly recent posts, some by myself (wasn't a user here at the time). Cam Equestrian Ltd (company behind Horserugs4u) were struck off Register of Companies at Companies House on 1 Feb 2011, but I have noticed recently they have been reinstated. People have had money back but it seems to take months, lots of persistence and a phone number of Morris Walker, who is one of the directors. If you check those sites you should be able to find more info. Hope you get your money back. There must be hundreds of people who will never use them again.

Yes!! Took my money, three months later no rugs, took a lot of angry phone calls but they eventually refunded me, saying the rugs were not in stock. (well then please don't take my money!!!)
