i have a 12 year old tb x mare who i have owned since she was 2... The last few years she seems to b allergic to alot of things.. It started of with being allergic to buttercups.. we narrowed it down to this has the buttercups started growin in the field and when we pulled her out of the field the reaction went away.. she took walts on under side of her belly and down her back legs... the same happened with nettles/thistles... She then got stung on the lip her lip swoll up so called the vet couldnt give her anything as she was heavy in foal... then in the summer when the foal was few months old she took another reaction this time really bad.... she came out in large walts all over her body called the vet and he had never seen anything like it and he wasnt to keen on givin her anything for it as she had a foal at foot but it was very uncomfortable for her and he gave her an injection and within a day or 2 there was a big improvement but this time the walts appeared to weep with fluid but within a couple week was completely gone... Bout a month later her eye had swoll up that her eye was closed over another sting! bathed it and within couple days was back to normal... in may/june this year she came back into work for showin season and i decided to introduce her to bluechip as i needed her in show condition and she can b difficult to keep condition on wen in work... however she reacted to the bluechip this time with pin prick style bumps all over body not like common protein lumps which she is also prone to! so had to take her off the bluechip and the reaction went away in a day or 2... I took her rugs off yesterday to find that she has took large hard walts on her back ( saddle patch) and up towards her shoulder... they are itchy... she is currently bein fed on horse pony cubes condition cubes and alfa a oil.. she doesnt get much hard feed as she is a highly strung mare.. she is also a extremely fussy mare and will go days without eatin if she doesnt like it!! and there is quite a few things she wont eat
anyone else with the same problem or similar and any advice would b great
Thanks
