I know it has been done over and over but Not withstanding the obvious dilemma of whether it is a bad idea or not - how did anyone manage it ? I feels constantly sick vomit lots and am absolutely exhausted, thankfully my horse is on livery as I work full time and have a very very active toddler to contend with, last time I rode to 24 weeks, this time I can barely even think about it ! also did many people turn their horse away when pregnant - last time OH kept him going but doesnt want to this time and have had no repsonse from my share advert.

Congratulations but its like being ill isnt it! Horrid experience. Just do what your body tells you and if you need to turn horse away do it. Added extra little active person/toddler to worry about.

I always try to make life easy for myself so why not do the same then you can just concentrate on family. If someone comes along to ride the horse good but otherwise turn away etc.

I had to stop at 5.5 months as well and I am about to pop back on next week (week 8 post c-section) and see what happens! My groom has done a lot of lunging, a bit of riding and I also have my instructor come in once a week for a proper schooling session, but I really miss it now!

How far gone are you, after the 2nd trimester I was soo full of energy and felt the best I ever have done, I was mucking out 2 hours before my c-section.

As you are on livery, do not beet your self up and rest ad and when you need to, good luck and I still feel your lack of get up and go, just your body telling you to stop for a while, as it doing a pretty tough job ATM :) x

Up until 14 weeks I felt so sick and tired! Mine were still in too and it was hard! Once I reached 14 weeks it got much easier again! Towards the end of my pregnancy the only thing I struggled with was the heat (summer) and having swollen feet! Had to wear flipflops!! I think us women just get on and do though! I had no help and horses are at home, so basically if I sat there (like pregnant friends did, getting waited on hand and foot!!) my horses would've had a visit from the RSPCA!!! Plus it kept me fit throughout, stopped excessive weight gain and helped with labour! I did everything myself, although I stopped riding at 16 weeks. Trust me the work begins once the baby's born!!!! Well worth every second though and my LO loves seeing the horses (she's 10 months)!
