Horses are for everyone and I mean any person who is interested in horses. The only people who have to admire them from afar are people who are bedridden. If you are ambulatory, there is a horse activity for you.
Some people just like to spend a bit of time with a horse. Brushing, feeding a few carrots etc.
Other activities are carriage driving. Showing in-hand. Riding. Volunteering with horse rescue organisations, Riding for the Disabled etc.
There really is an activity for everyone and never a need for a person to feel rejected. If we reject people based purely on their size, we could be missing out on some really great people. People who could do a lot of good for horses.
So if a larger person wants to ride and they are either too large to ride any horse or there is no suitable horse available, please don't reject them. Please don't make them feel less than human. Please find a horse activity they can do. People don't quit being human on the basis of being heavy.
