Just had one of the best rides of my life, and one of the worst drives.
I rode the Ninga Ginga and I had a little SJ course up. Little 23 blocks on the top with a water tray under, a cross with the edges at 4 foot, a barrel on its side between 2 wings, and a 29 spread with cones under. I warmed him up over the X, and he was fab, usually when we start we have a few stops, or atleast he tries to but he didnt! We then did all 4 jumps, including the barrel and he did it all, first time round! It doesnt sound much, but for me and him that is good, as usually he is wary of new jumps, and likes them to start about 2 foot then move up . Feeling very ambitious I got off to change it. The X I put to a 3 foot upright, the 29 to a 3 foot upright with the cones, the little blocks as they were and the barrel upright! He jumped it, first second and third time clear and he was really moving forwards. Yes he was pulling to the jumps, yes he was above the contact before the jumps, yes I did get left behind once, yes he did get disunited twice, but who cares, we had such fun, he really was flying and it reminded me of what proper SJ is like. Its such an adrenaline rush(well it is for me with3 3foot+ jumps and another in a 20 X 40)
(an insight into all the things muggins the unnatural SJer does in a few jumps.)
look for first jump, count in, jumping position, opps forgot to look for the next, kick on, try to get un disunited, legs, legs, legs, bad stride coming, forgot jumping position dam ,next jump coming wahey opps let reins slip to much, steering, kick, jumping position finished!
I know your bored of this picture, but its the only decent one I have of him jumping.
His little ears were up the whole time, bless him. I am trying to remember having more fun riding before I declare it official best ride, but cant think of any!
Nb. No Comments that I am pushing my little fat pony too far, too high etc. He loves it!
After I drove Pip. Less said the better. His cockiness of welsh, sharpness of TB and fizz of a hackney was at an all time high today, he wouldnt go straight when I wanted, or bend around the corners, or stop or start when I say, or stop cantering for a whole lap. He really is the most frustrating pony sometimes, Im sure he is just doing it to get a reation from me. When he was going (for about 2 seconds) he trot was ace, and his walk was to, but it was only on his terms. I think he is having abit of the Im exitable and you keep me in a stable 20 hours a day, feed me a shocking 2 scoops of cool mix so I must explode. He just had far to much energy, I asked him to canter to let of steam but he wouldnt even do that.
I have a 1DE with him Saturday, and if he is no more sane by then I wont be taking him, it would be too dangerous, but that would mean if I dont take a pony atall, I def. cant qualitfy for the indoor nationals, as it is you best results of 5 events, and I would miss one so score 0, and if I dont get there GB team hopes are out the window. Of the other ponies dad is driving Rory and Bob, Toor is driving Brook, Freddie cant go single, Richard has only ever been on his own once, Ajay is as slow as a drain and Ginga has not been driven for a month. Great!
So free to any home (doesnt have to be good) 13.3 ,welsh TB hackney mix, fast, too sharp for anyone I have met to ride, jumps as big as you like, unbeaten for speed in driving, could race if you are small and arent to bothered about surviving. Any takers
And wanted anyone who will take me SJ!
