My horses boots all slip down. Every brand every type of boot. Does anyone else have this issue? He’s in need of brushing boots and tendon and fetlock but I can’t get any that don’t slide down! Anyone else had this issue and managed to find some that don’t move?

I had one that was rubbed raw on his heels/ pasterns by boots slipping down, he had bandages for ages to prevent it and ended up in PE air cooled boots in front in pony size which were shorter and stayed put but did need to be put on then adjusted/ checked at least once more before settling off, his legs were long and slim with very flat bone and small fetlock joints, I cannot remember what we used behind probably nothing even xc as he was very careful.

Is it the boots or perhaps if his legs are slightly up when you put them on, they then slip down as his legs naturally go down. If that makes sense!

My two guesses would be either you aren’t doing them up tight enough or he is brushing his legs together and boots are getting knocked down. Can you try polo wraps as a test? If the wraps get pushed down also, I would guess he’s brushing legs together.

Are you sure you're fitting them correctly? If it's happening regularly my guess would be the boots don't fit or are being put on too loosely - or he really brushes and perhaps needs a better style of boot.

I found that the woof wear boots stayed put on one of mine when others didn't, I did need to make sure they were adjusted snuggly.
