Horses do not like men much

I don't really agree with the generalisation Barton, what I will say though is that some horses definitely prefer one sex to the other. I prefer mares and both mine dote on me.

Fortunately Bonnie came from a very good (showing and competition breeder) home and has never been mistreated.

Belle is different being a yearling meat market rescue from France I can imagine she has been handled quite roughly in her first year, she is a little skittish to handle at times and doesn't like shouting and hates whips but loves her humans.

I feel there are quite a lot of 1 person horses who respond far better to 'their human' than say Joe Bloggs off the street. Anyone can ride Bonnie and Belle but they definitely perform better when I am in the saddle than say my Mum or Boyfriend.

Agree!!! A tiny 7 degrees here ... winter is a coming 😢😂

4 here. Manky.

Why is that? Mistreatment? Just bad vibes?
My ex racer doesnt take kindly to men although now he is fine with my hubby and son.. it took a year.

Now this new pony is wary of men too 😂😂

I pick them dont i 😂😂😂

None of the horses I've known have had a particular dislike for men.

Many of them seem to be more stubborn when faced with 14 and 15 year old girls, though.

And I discovered in the 1980s that horses don't like mirrored sunglasses.

Hahahha ive never tried them? But now im gonna have to 😂😂

my OH is totally inexperienced with horses, but utterly brilliant with them, and dogs love him too.

the pony he rescued, is now 4 years old, and he has taught him total obedience on the lunge, without a whip, and warrior is a hot pony 15. hh and strong headed and a beautiful big mover, he is a very lucky pony

and my neighbour is brilliant with hot horses too, and stallions, some people have just got it

i think men can be very positive with horses, and horses pick up on their strength and calm approach, but the key seems to be if they are not fearful just exude confidence

My Welsh isn't fond of my fiance & vice versa. He uses all his bullish Welsh attitude on him dragging him around & general bad manners, so in turn, fiance thinks he's an idiot and handles him as I say nice and firm with brave pants on. Welshie sees this as a bring it on & pushes him to the limits testing him. I'm convinced it's jealousy!!! Lol
