Horses do the funniest / daftest things...

Whilst reading some of the ligher-hearted posts... I started thinking what funny things horses do seem to do on occassion... or is it just I own a daft ass?? Peds - found him asleep ontop of the neighbours bonfire - he'd popped over the hedge to get to it, and was merrily roasting his trotters dozing in the ashes... never figured that one out! Also remember him falling asleep in the muddiest patch in the field, so much so he pulled a load of fur out of his next, presume he'd heated the mud up and he'd stuck to it, poor lad :-( Then his favourite passtime currently is... well, no polite way of putting it... farting at people. He used to have a mirror in his stable, he'd stand with his bum against it merrily blowing away, with his head cranked round to watch... Think I have it on video somewhere....Does anyone else's nedinio's have weird things they do, or have done - or do I just really own a weirdo? He gives me hours of fun, just soemtimes think that's his intention!!!

pmsl, nope, more OH's talent is that! It's a boy thing he says, he encourages Peds to do it - did catch him once saying - hey, that was nearly your longest record, nice one! I worry sometimes, which one really is the Dope on a Rope!!

my old boy used to stand good as gold when you are picking out his feet, then hed turn around nip ur bum (not mine, everyone elses) then quickly straighten up and look out hte corner of his eye and curl his lip round to you, looking at you like DID YOU NOTICE?!

the cob im on at the moment, also farts on cue!! when you are picking out his back feet! its like a defence mechanism!

Oooh yes, he does fart when you're doing his back feet - or worse, washing his tail - convinced he's trying to blow bubbles! He's mastered the innocent face too!! MissKali can verify this one, she came up for a visit last night

FB farts when you pick out his hind feet too. First one, no problem then as he shifts his weight for the other one his tail lifts and there is a long, silent, smelly whoosh of air past your ear

He used to love to eat oranges. If you gave him a whole one he would rummage it onto his back teeth then put his head up in the air and bite so all the juice ran down his throat and not on the floor. He used to chuckle at you if you even went anywhere near an orange tree. He would then lick his field companion with a sticky orange tongue to make him nice and attractive for the flies!

Harvey farts when he neighs....which is quite a lot if he wants his tea.

if you pick his front feet up he does this funny thing where he leaps in the air and jumps backwards, convinced that if i think he cant balance on 3 legs i'll put it down. After months of trying this and failing, he's still not learnt.

I also agree he has a 'wind' problem too! Although it is fully to watch his face whilst he's doing it...
