Hi
I have a new forest gelding who has a habit of eating the wooden fence posts, usually the ones that are rotting.
My friend has just brought a new forest mare, and she has started doing the same thing.
They have field company, have feed and hay daily and have plenty of grass. Is this likely to mean they are lacking something in their feed (eg supplement) or is this just a naughty habit?
The mare hasnt been in with my horse and only arrived on Saturday so its not been learnt from my horse.
The fence posts are being replaced however I am worrying about them eating the wood and ending up sick, and the costs of keep replacing the posts!
Thanks
