Horse's field mate moving yards, any tips??

As above really, he's quite attached to him but although he will have his beloved companion donkey's the other horse will still be local and possibly passing our yard while hacking. I do'nt ride out with them too often but are there any tips on settling him down after his pal leaves??

Try and keep his routine the same, spend a bit more time with him and as long as he still has other horses around him should settle no problem .
