horses foot

could any one help me. My horse was lame today so i felt his foot and he as a soft area on the inside of his sole, well i had a little dig to see if it was bruised or something else and some blood came out, what would cause this. By the way i know i am in the wrong place but i thought i might get more replys in here.

Has he trodden on something, wire / nail or other small sharp object?

Has he penetrated the frog area? if so be very carefull and get vet straight away, as if something has entered the navicular bursa area can be very serious.

It could just be bruising, but get either your vet or your farrier to have a look ASAP
