I have two horses that I would like to loan, but want them to stay at our yard ( own yard, good facilities), so, the question is:

Where is the best place to advertise? Other than tack shops, local shops etc. and

Am I asking too much for the horses to stay on our yard?

I often found it very frustrating that people would want them to stay at their yard when I was looking for a loan pony. Only because I would find a perfect one in all aspects but then they would be to far away to travel to everyday and we already had a reserved stable at another yard.

If you do want to keep them at your yard I would suggest just advertising locally maybe? Then people in your area will see the advert.

Good luck,

Laura.

It is OK to keep them at your own yard, but you are restricting your potential loanees to being local to you as a lot of people may not want to travel too far, may have a lovely yard. You could say preferably to remain at current yard but woudl consider moving on inspection, so you can check out where they are going to, or maybe suggest a 2/4 week trial at your yard and if they get on then allow them to move the horse?

Thanks guys, yes gummybear I think that is probably the best idea, for one of them at least

I know I'm restricting my options, but I just wondered if there was somewhere I could advertise.

Thanks for replying, I'll have a think now!!!

NewRider and similar websites are split up by area... sort of depends on where you are how small the area is but there are certainly a few people with 'must stay at own yard' loans on those places...
