Are they any websites that deal mainly with the NW ie Lancs/Liverpool etc.? I know the usual general ones horsequest/horsedeals/horsemart etc but just want to see if there are any I am unaware of.
Also, any dealers of the quality sport horse kind in the area, any to avoid? I have found Two Mills, SS Sport Horses, Astrid Bolton in the area, anything good/bad/indifferent? Any others you can suggest to contact?
Thanks, PM if need be!

Astrid Bolton has usually got some lovely competition horses for sale.

There's also Doug Aldred and W.Howard and son that used to be very good but not had any dealings with them recently.

Thanks for replies so far.
Does this Doug Aldred or W Howard have websites or contact no's? I found Chequers Sport Horses site. I saw the Astrid Bolton site but the horses did not go as I would expect 4 yos to go so not so sure there!

Don't know what she's got at the moment but I know a few people who have bought from Astrid and been pleased. Having said that they are competing in pure dressage.

Not sure if these numbers are still valid but worth a try:

Doug Aldred: M: 07887761550 or 01772 612333
Sorry it's J Howard and number I have is: 01542792094

Bought several horses from Joe Howard before and they were always straight and as described etc... was a good few years ago now though, but definately worth a try... at one time it seemed most of the good horses out hunting with the Tynedale hunt were from Joe :-)

There is White gate stables in Cheshire, he has a big website man is called Joe Murphy, quite expensive though. Also there is Roger Rimmer in Merseyside, he is at Kentonwood Stables, I think they have a website. Both places offer excellent trial facilities.

Thanks people. To those who have PM'd me, agreed! Basically I am looking for a quality horse with paces for dressage but still sane and sensible enough to hack out and do a bit of low level jumping etc. Preferably 5 - 8 yo up to 16.2hh. Correctly started is a must, no draw reins or giraffe necks on a youngster! Would probably lean towards a lightweight WB/TB type.

In what sense? pm me if you would rather.

I've rang Joe Murphy twice in recent months regarding a horse in his H & H ad and they've been sold. Must sell them very quickly

Doesn't price them in ad and cheapest when I rang was £10k for the ones I liked the look of. OH has always said I have expensive tastes
