Hi all,

Just found this site, so thought i'd give it a go........

After loaning horses for several years I have finally decided to take the plunge and buy my frst 'proper' horse to call my own!

So far I've been trawling the internet and have found a few that fit the bill
(16.2/16.3 gelding around 5-8 yrs, warmblood) and have been to look at a few with no luck so far and had one bad experience where the owner wasn't particularly welcoming and the horse wasn't as described on the advert..... which has kind of dented my confidence in online ad's really.

I've seen a couple more horses so far and have made initial enquiries, there are two that have taken my interest and they are being sold by R Selleck at Highfield Stud (i think)........so I was wondering whether anyone has bought horses from this yard before and could recommend the seller? It's quite a way to travel for me, so to put my mind at ease it would be great to have some endorsement to help my scepticism about online horse ads!

Any advice would be welcome,

Many thanks,

Lisa :)

Um I got a thread pulled and a slap on the wrist for posting a question like this the other day so I wouldn't bank on this thread being around for long. You aren't allowed to talk about dealers on here.

Oh whoops, mistake by a newbie then.......

Was just asking for some positive recommendation really......anything negative I can see the issue, but didn't think there would be any issue with some positive recommendation?

Not sure on the website of the seller, I can't seem to find one at mo :(

Unfortunately not, I thought that would be fine when I posted my thread too and actually emailed to find out what the problem was but apparently the rules are no discussion of dealers at all!

It seems that while I can post the name of a riding school or livery yard and get pages of glowing recommendations back you can't even say nice things about dealers!

Well I'll just hope that the editors understand what I'm asking about and don't remove it

Well I decided in the end to call up, with caution though thanks to some private messages received. All sounded genuine, so hoping to go and view the horses soon. Was a bit concerned who's actually selling the horses, as I got given another number to call?! But can't find any other suitable horses so think I'll give them a go.
