Had worries about sending 18 horses and ponies from school, mine and friends included, to a huge 20+ acre field in Flintshire country hills for xmas hols. Well cant get them back yet cos lane is icy and frozen but just got back from a visit, this involves a few mile walk up said lane in snow, never fell over, they are all fine, only mine and a few of the ponies came over for apples, all rugs are keeping them toasty, took all ice off water butts, threw it into spare water trug, so when it melts will be fresh water, me thinks horses are more adapt to the weather than we appreciate. It is better they there than stuck in stable cos stable yard is just sheet ice. Just cant imagine how frisky the lot of them will be when we thaw out!!!! will be getting in some practice with lunging!
