I have just got back from 2 weeks in brasil,had a great time but was appauled by the horses i saw there,my goodness do our horses here know how lucky they are!
I dont think i have ever seen such thin lifeless looking horses ever before.spent most of my time in tears over it all, What i did notice was that the horses moved in a way i have never seen before it was not pacing but some thing similar. Also i never saw a female on horseback,well except me!
I was in brasil with my partner on a paragliding trip, we went for a walk one day and came across a farm,there was a barn with a very sweet palomino horse tied up inside,our guide told me it was ok to ride the horse if i wanted, it was not his horse,lol amazing people in brasil they have no problem with sharing anything with you,even when its not theres! so well i decided the horse looked pretty quiet and in ok condition,so what the hell i had withdrawel symptons from not riding in over a week so on i got.
Some may call it madness i know but hey i was fed up of looking at paragliders,any way i rode him around some amazing fields and tracks through a huge river,wow it was fantastic,and the sweetest horse ever,i got back to the farm,when i realised after dismounting he was a 3yr old stallion,LOL.
Well the moral of the story is dont ever go on hearsay,as the stallion was the most laid back sweet horse i have ridden in years and i had the ride of a life time,in an amazing country,a memory i will always treasure.
