Are there many yards that produce horses for films/reinactments etc?

Whenever I watch anything with these horses in I often think they must be bloomin bomb proof!!!

Weren't the ponies on robin hood all show ponies? HOYs winners etc.

There is a film being filmed here in NI and they had an open casting in the summer for anyone who had a well behaved horse :p

my RS is in a film at the mo :o well 2 of the RS ponies and a few from the other yard at my RS :) Bombproof? no way!!
Andy is a showjumper type :O and is speedy like hell. And Captain is young. So not exactly bombproof! i do know where you are coming from tho :)

There are 2 main Horse Masters in the UK

Steve Dent (Reg Dent his father had the black beauty's in the 70's series)
&
Gerard Naprous - Devils Horsemen

Steve had the Robin Hood film. Originally Robin Hood was to be shot in 2008 where over 2000 horses were sourced from other Medieval Jousting companies etc Only MEN were wanted but due to budget cuts filming was delayed until 2009

Filming for Robin Hood took place in Pembrooke wales and Windsor Great Park.

There's a place near me that supplies horses and the riders for films, they do jousting shows and train individuals to do trick riding too, but forgotten name of the place.

There are quite a few yards - they usually supply for both. I know of 3/4 (that I can think of off the top of my head). The horses are not always bombproof...some are amazing, some **** themselves when the cannons go off, and some (like the one my sister rode at aug bank) fall asleep next to the cannon.

At re-enactments it's not uncommen for people to take there own horses either.
