Horses in or out?

Mine are out from 6am til 12.30 lunch time. It helps preserve the field and tb hates being out too long so this is a great compromise. They are both very settled.

Mine are back out at night after being in at night when the weather was bad. I've got bugger all grass though so they are getting plenty of hay although they are good doers anyway so hoping to get some weight off them this Winter as failed miserably last year as had so much grass.

does your field gate go onto a road? if not would they respect electric fencing, obviously live with plenty of strands in the meantime? or could you use some heras fencing or something even if just so they could get out for a little bit during the day?

Mine are still out they come in to be ridden and every few evenings they are in for a about 4 or 5 hours to have a lie down and sleep, they want to go back out even though its damp and horrible but they get ad lib hay on hardstanding so off the mud.

I wouldn't worry too much I think most horses prefer being out it's meany to be sunny tomorrow
